This project started a few years ago as "Blue Collar Baseball," out of my frustrations that the Milwaukee Brewers were continually in last place. Instead of hoping for a better team, I tried to use MLB teams' payrolls to find a formula that would elevate the Brewers in the standings. The results were interesting: not only was Milwaukee bad in the real world, they spent a lot of money for the few wins they did manage! Anyway, out of this pointless spreadsheet I thought it would be fun to keep up the salary-adjusted standings for the 2003 season.
